About Us

Great American Furniture Warehouse is a local family owned business with stores in Bend, Oregon and Redmond, Oregon. The company was founded in 1980 by Dean and Sandi Cowell. Dustin Cowell (their son) is also involved as General Manager of both stores.

Our promise:

We only sell furniture brands in our stores that we can stand behind and that we feel will bring great value to our customers. Our reputation rides on it. We have our own in house service department that will take care of your furniture if you ever have a problem with it. If we can't stand behind it we don't sell it.

Our company's history...

Past:

Prior to starting the company, Dean was working as a forklift operator and Sandi was working as a waitress. They both had a dream of becoming self employed. Dean started dabbling in building waterbeds in their home garage in Bend, Oregon as a side business and Great American was born. By 1985 the company had grown into one of the largest waterbed manufactures in the Pacific Northwest, still operating in Bend, Oregon. In 1990 the company got out of furniture manufacturing and went into retail. The company also opened it's first store in Redmond, Oregon that same year.

Present:

Great American currently has 2 stores, one in Bend, Oregon and one in Redmond Oregon. We stock 1,000 items from 2 dozen brands including living room, dining room, bedroom and mattresses. We have access to special order over 10,000 items. We guarantee the best prices, selection and service in Central Oregon!

Future:

We plan to continue to work hard to offer great quality furniture at great budget friendly prices, just as we have for over 43 years.
